So a lot has been happenning since my last update, some good some bad.
Danien’s moved out, leaving me tenant-less. I won’t go into the reasons here, but things could get interesting. Anyway, that means there’s a room to let in Caerphilly. Let me know if you have anyone who’s interested.
I’m missing Sean a lot at the moment, though we’re talking every night and that’s really nice. It feels as though I’m coming home to someone because I’m turning my laptop on as soon as I get home, and though we have long periods of silence where one or the other is doing stuff, we’re constantly chatting. We try and make sure we have at least one telephone (aka Skype or whatever) conversation each night, though I still do miss the contact of him being there. He’s off to Canada in a week or so. He’s going to love it, I know, but I’m still not looking forward to it, for purely selfish reasons.
Let’s see…oh exercise. Well, things aren’t going so well. Running hasn’t really happened for various reasons, mostly illness, but last night I didn’t get home until late and after 4 hours sleep, I decided that I needed sleep more than running, so I went back to sleep. If I get time, I’ll run tonight. Weight training is going better – I’ve got my weights sorted and I have a little circuit that I do. We’ll see how that goes anyway. My goal is not so much to lose weight. It’s twofold – firstly, to get fitter so I’m not dying on callouts, and secondly to make myself look better so that Sean has a nice hunky boyfriend. *grin*
And finally…last night was Monday which is parade night at the squadron. My Civilian Instructor (CI) papers have finally come through, which means I can now get paid expenses and I’m a full fledged CI. Our old Commanding Officer (CO) has stepped down to be replaced by a younger guy who’s got a lot of ideas and passion about what to do on the squadron. I get the feeling we’re going to see some changes soon. He’s asked me if I want a commission as a VR(T) officer – that’s Volunteer Reserve (Training) – it’s a non-combatant role within the RAF, basically it gives me extras over and above a CI and requires me to commit to 12 hours a month, minimum. It’s not a given – there’s an application process, but I’m seriously considering it. Sean thinks it’s a good idea, and I have a feeling that the uniform wouldn’t go unnoticed either…*grin*
Anyway, that’s enough for now. I’m flat out busy this week, but hopefully will get a chance this wekeend to catch up on stuff that needs doing, like servicing the car, washing it, sorting stuff out in the house, usual kinda things. Oh, yeah, and hayfever’s kicked in big time. Blarg. Time for the drugs I think.
Oh, no, wait, one more thing, apparently I’m having a party on Sat 26th August. Sean’s coming back from Canada, and hopefully I’ll get the BBQ out if the weather’s nice. All, as usual, are welcome.
Thanks for bringing the BBQ round at the weekend, you’ll definitely need to make more use of it after all the palaver of getting the new canister/fitting etc.
No problem, and you’re not frigging wrong. I’m still assuming that Propane is fine on a BBQ originally intended for Butane… 🙂
If I hear a distant “THWUMP!” I’ll ring Caerphilly Fire Station.
